Fantasy and Imagination

Saturday 9th November
15.30-16.30

Myth, Fantasy and Imagination: the abiding power of make-believe. How do we make sense of the world? By telling ourselves stories. Su Bristow will talk about her own perspective on this, then introduce Lindsay Clarke, winner of the 1989 Whitbread Prize for his novel ‘The Chymical Wedding’, who will talk on the Mythic Imagination as the poetic basis of mind and the way it lends coherence to our lives creatively, personally and socially, while also acting as a powerful agent of transformation. The talk will make reference to specific mythic archetypes and will be illustrated by short readings from my work, particularly my most recent book GREEN MAN DREAMING.
Time will be allowed for questions and discussion.
