"It Was the Speckled Band"

In this short talk author P.J. Reed examines and reads extracts from ‘The Speckled Band’ which has been voted one of the darkest Sherlock Holmes stories. She explores the Victorian love of Gothic horror and the themes that set this genre apart from other literature. P.J. Reed also discusses the various psychological aspects of horror writing and the hidden health benefits of reading horror. Finally, she ends the talk with a modern day ghost story
