BARNFIELD THEATRE CLIFFORD ROOM
SUNDAY 18TH NOVEMBER
"Writing A Memoir:
The life of Paulette Sorrell, the speaker's mother, was shared between France and England. It was overshadowed
by two World Wars, the Spanish Civil War, political and social uncertainties, and mental illness. Martin's original idea
was to write the story as one of his Radio 4 docudramas, but it needed a book to tell this rich, eventful story of different
cultures and shifting identities, and what it means to leave your homeland and adapt yourself to another."
